Extra-fine painting varnish with a high-gloss finish. It is made from synthetic resin with UV filter and odorless solvent. The synthetic resin is the patented Relgarez® which was developed by laboratory specialists in collaboration with art conservators at the National Gallery in Washington, USA. The result was a flexible yet strong film that could be a protective membrane on several paintings of national and international interest worth preserving.
 In other words, it is a quality final varnish. The resin in this varnish does not yellow or crack, as, for example, traditional Dammar can do over time. It is also gently reversible, which means that the varnish can be removed or renewed in the future without the painting suffering visible damage.
 High gloss is a popular varnish. It gives a really nice finish, especially for deep and dark tones, which get extra shine.
 The same varnish is also available in Satin, where you can give the painting a surface that enhances the visual experience of your painting in exactly the same way, just with less glare.
 Why use varnish at all?
 Varnish has existed for as long as oil painting has existed, and there are many good reasons to use it. Every oil painting will show matte areas after drying for some time. It is said that the color “sets in”. What happens is that part of the color’s binder (linseed oil and or a paint containing linseed oil and resin) is absorbed into the paint base, and the color in question is thereby deprived of the very thing that gives it its special shine and depth. In addition, when the different colors lose their binder, they either become lighter or change hue. By varnishing, the painting regains its original appearance, as when the artist put the finishing touches on the work, and at the same time the optical connection that existed between binder and color is recreated. Whether you prefer a high-gloss varnish or a semi-matt (satin) varnish is partly a question of temperament. Semi-matt varnish (satin) has the same “reviving” properties as high-gloss varnish when applied to matte areas of the painting.
 Application
 This varnish can be applied with a wide soft brush or varnish roller (recommended) on oil paintings, acrylic paintings, mixed media and works made in egg tempera.

 A great advantage of this varnish is that it can be applied when the painting is already surface dry. Normally, with oil paintings you have to wait 6 months or a year before varnishing.
